MACCAFFERI

G30

1952

WHITE

For just under $1000 here in Oz your buying a jazz box made in China...for a few hundred dollars more look what can be had..!!

I personally love the Maccaferri, I just feel there's something about them. I had a 1932 Selmer Maccaferri so yes I can truly appreciate these. This one we picked up some 9 month's ago and at that time the headstock was damaged beyond restoration, so a decision was made to install a new faceplate and once the headstock was opened up the tuners wear was evident so new banjo tuners were installed.

We then had a beautiful mother of pearl faceplate made then the name / decals from the original were replaced making I think a great looking alternative to the damaged one..

This model G30 would usually have a nickle tailpiece but  it was missing and an original could not be had so we decided to install a vintage style jazz tailpiece which I think works very well. The body, front, back and sides were then polished and now it looks as one would expect. The back of the neck does have a couple of the white dot's missing but these are purely decorative and do not effect anything. So what about the sound and how does it play you ask.?....well it plays as one would expect..great and it sounds like a real jazz box or amazingly it would make a great blues guitar. In VGC+ and had some work yes but looks, sounds and plays great, Comes with a non original hard case

GRETSCH

VIKING

1967

RARE 'BLONDE'

Second only to the GRETSCH WHITE FALCON this VIKING is a beautiful guitar from 1967. Finished in the more desirable blonde it just looks oh so good. Many years ago it had the binding on the body and fretboard redone but the headstock still has the original binding which of course is showing wear with one spot as can be seen in the pics about (6mm or 1/4") missing. Overall the guitar is in exccondition with the blonde finish still looking really great. The pick guard does has a small crack where the screw goes thru but you can still get pick guards so this can be replaced. This one also has the intact 'tuning fork' and the mute selector, and the back vinyl is also still there. Featuring two great pickups these sound just so great, whether your into rockabilly, county or rock you not going to be disappointed with this beauty. The fretboard is of course ebony which is one of my favourite materials next to aged rosewood and both give you that unique sound. Gretsch's are and always have been great guitars and especially from the 60's...the Gretsch style Bigsby is another great feature as is the roller bridge...comes with it's original slightly beat up case

GUITAR CIRCA

1952

Looking for a great present for someone who's got just about everything...well look no further..!!

If your looking for that collectable guitar that's quite different from your usual Strat's, Tele's or Les Paul's this is the one for you. It has that real bluesey sound about it and it also has a great Gypsy Jazz feel & sound as well. These are made circa early 50's and designed by the great and legendary maker Maccaferri himself. Designed as an alternative to the 'timber' guitars of the time sales were expected to be quite high, but alas, they weren't. Today some 70 years later these are very much desired and used in recording studio's for their unique sound... and desired by some great players and are in many great guitarists collections.

This particular one had a couple of tuner gears that were worn down and required us to get some new internal gears to be made, so now it's in pretty much 100% in great playable and collectable condition. The finish was polished by hand and several scratches that were present are now gone. Looks and feels fantastic...

RICKENBACKER

360/12

CIRCA

JETGLO

The allure of the 12 string to legends like George Harrison and Tom Petty for certain effects in songs is what makes these 360's a desirable 12 string, this one manufactured 1981 in the cool Jetglo has some of the desirable checking that we all look for in vintage instruments, the jangly sound of the 12 string and the ease of how the Ricky feels is what makes these so great. No cumbersome thick and wide neck but a very slim style just like the 6 string so this makes it so much easier to play, these guitars of course can be used on stage at anytime and also do make a great recording guitar as well, we can recommend this one for sure, don't forget if your in australia a new ricky 360/12 is more than 5k so for a early 80's COOL VINTAGE this is the way to go, exc+ condition and comes with a hard case

A very cool MARTIN D45 that's made in china, looks the part that's for sure, but does it compare with the real thing, well at this price it doesn't have to....check out the many demo's on youtube of these

SO HOW DOES IT SOUND..?

Well pretty good actually, it's has lot's of volume and presence, easy to play, hard wired with a Fishman pickup, and doesn't it look just so good. solid Indian rosewood back and sides, maple top, paua shell inlays all over the guitar and sound hold, on the sides, the back and on the fretboard which of course is rosewood as well...at this price it's a real bargain and comes with a almost new $266 case as well and the fisherman instructor manual...
