THE GEORGE HARRISON
'ROCKY'
ART GUITAR
RS-109
ARE YOU A BEATLES FAN.?
'ROCKY' JUST ARRIVED
This is a guitar thats been hand painted. From my experience looks to be a MIJ guitar from the early 70's.? such as a Greco or similar. Now if your a Beatles fan, you already know just how cool this guitar is. So the Fender custom shop Rocky is a hand painted guitar, well this is also hand painted and looks the same. So if you bought a fender custom shop one where would you put it.? Probably in a display case, well the same with this one, so why pay 30 or 40k for a custom shop one when you have this one for under 2k.! This was painted by artist ITO WAKABAYASHI in Kyoto he then gave this to his best friend who was a Beatles fan when he migrated to Australia in the late 90's, he recently passed away and he's family offered it to us. Yes, it does play and sounds fine, but really it's a piece of ART.! Comes with a soft case. Cool and priced to sell.

Here is a classic LES PAUL FIREBAND dated 1979 from Gibson, features the branded style logo on the headstock with the LP FIREBRAND logo which is the rarer model, later models were called 'the Paul'....at gibson they aged these using (some say) a bike chain over the body so that it looked like it had some age to it...well now after 40 years it does have 'vintage' vibe...so let's talk about playability etc, well with the T top pickups, the no frills body and the smooth as silk ebony fretboard this is a players dream, once you play it there's no doubt you will agree, ok it doesn't have the 'looks' etc of the typical Les Paul but sound wise is up there with the customs etc for sure and is lightweight, also dont forget the placement of the 3 way down on the lower bout which is a great feature for players as well, not forgetting these record very well, comes with it's original hard case, overall in exc_ condition

STRATOCASTER

DAKOTA RED
ORIGINAL FINISH
ANOTHER VERY COLLECTABLE STRATOCASTER JUST IN..!! Here is a classic vintage DAKOTA RED stratocaster from Fender, year is 1969 so this year it's celebrating it's 50th birthday and what a guitar it is. This one came in a couple of month's ago but needed a serious fret job as the previous 'butcher' ( no offence to butcher's here..lol ) tried to do a refret but well as you can imagine did a horrific job. Now though the fretwork by our top luthier here in Perth did an absolutely wonderful job 10/10. So let me give you a description now of this great vintage classic. This is the second time we've had this guitar in, the first time was about 10 years ago but luckily for us it's back in our hands. It has the rosewood fretboard which has just undergone an extensive refret as mentioned, now it has original width frets but slightly taller so they should last many years of playing, the tuners are 'f' type and of course original, pickups, pick guard, covers etc are original, as can be seen it has the mother of pearl underneath which was a common thing they did at Fender back then, it still has it's untouched 3 way switch, all wiring is original but it does look like one solder earth wire was 'maybe' done in the past (sometimes it's very hard to distinguish whether this was done at the factory or not..? ) As can be seen from the pics all the pick guard, cover & knobs are well used and have gone a beautiful deep creme in colour. Also you can see plenty of real players wear as this guitar was used by a professional player. The neck 'might' have had a refinish at sometime as can be seen by the more 'glossy' finish, we'll leave that up to you too judge. The backplate is still with the guitar which seems quite rare nowadays as well as the tremolo arm which is original as well. The neck pocket had been routed out by a previous owner many years ago who had no idea what these guitars are worth and as such does effect it's value to a degree but it's still a 69' Strat and as such very collectable and desirable to play and own. This guitar will be featured in a new video segment in a week or two so keep checking the new arrivals page etc. Overall in VGC very playable, sounds oh so cool, what a guitar...highly recommended for the player RC-20

JUST IN-
On a budget and don't want to buy a Chinese guitar but something that has 'vintage' and a great sound..?
This is a early 70's Japanese handcrafted Thunder Super Sounds Strat from the Suzuki company that also makes fine violins. In the early 70's they tried their hand at guitars and this is one of those. It has the large headstock and two string tree's. Not a super expensive guitar today but a great playing guitar and it's gonna sound 10 times better than anything out of china! Plus it's around 50 years old already, so definitely 'Vintage'.
Finished is a see through brown burst with black pickguard, maple fretboard and the back of the neck is highly flamed as well. (hard to capture on camera) Overall a great guitar for someone starting out VGC. and comes with a hard case

If your into
MATON VINTAGE GUITARS
and you dont have one of these, this is your opportunity.
This is a great example of early Australiana as made by Maton circa 1962 from the serial.
It's in great condition as can be seen in the pics.
The pickups have the Maton logo stamped on them, the pickguard is in great original condition, all the tone and volume knobs are original as is the 3 way switch with it's very retro original selector. This great guitar has just gone through our luthiers hands to have a full work over. What was done is as follows. All pots recovered and serviced but all original solder still in tact, as is the original 'cap', the 3 way switch was serviced as was the jack plug. The fretboard was cleaned and oiled and frets were polished. Tuners were removed and serviced and cleaned. So as can be seen it also has that original case but it really needs a solid type hard case especially for shipping. Overall for a guitar of this age I'll say it's in EXC condition and highly recommended for the player and collector. This model is also featured in the MATON book.

Pickups are the EMG type that also have a great sound, some people actually prefer these to original pickups, but whatever one's choice is this is what it has. Fretboard is maple and also has the large headstock with the 'F' style tuners. It comes with it's original case, play excellent, look's fabulous etc. Overall in EXC + CONDITION

MARTIN

2001
This is a very nice and great sounding Martin D41. It has the abalone style inlays around the sound hole and on the sides of the guitar (top) and it looks stunning. I'm Fairly sure I sure Paul Simon playing one at Madison Sq. Garden many years ago?
It also has the ebony fretboard and the abalone style inlays on the fretboard. The headstock again has the abalone inlays which look just so great. If you're looking for a guitar that looks a bit different yet sounds unbelievable this one is for you. And yes, you could use this on stage for live performances or in the studio. As with all top end Martins you know their gonna sound great. Now about that mark on the top. The previous owner put one of those pick holders and then velcro'd it with glue to the top of the guitar. When our luthier removed it, this is as good as he could do without our re-finishing the whole top, this could be done but we'll leave that for it's new owner.
It's an amazing guitar and highly recommended. Comes with an original Martin fibreglass style hard case

JETGLO
The allure of the 12 string to legends like George Harrison and Tom Petty for certain effects in songs is what makes these 360's a desirable 12 string, this one manufactured 1981 in the cool Jetglo has some of the desirable checking that we all look for in vintage instruments, the jangly sound of the 12 string and the ease of how the Ricky feels is what makes these so great. No cumbersome thick and wide neck but a very slim style just like the 6 string so this makes it so much easier to play, these guitars of course can be used on stage at anytime and also do make a great recording guitar as well, we can recommend this one for sure, don't forget if your in australia a new ricky 360/12 is more than 5k so for a early 80's COOL VINTAGE this is the way to go, exc+ condition and comes with a hard case

MOD.
NATURAL
This is the FENDER P BASS
from 1974 / 75.
This one we believe was originally sunburst but at some stage it was stripped to natural by it's previous owner.
Neck and pot dates it to 1974 whereas the serial is '75, The neck of course is rosewood and has the dot inlays and frets have plenty of life left in them. The headstock features the original tuners and has aged beautifully as can be seen in the pics. The pickguard is the multiply black and white and has new screws. Covers on the pickups are Fender but the pickup we believe is a 62 cloth wire re-issue which was replaced at some stage. The bridge is moved forward by about 10mm which with the adjustment of the harmonics doesn't really make any difference. Of course it still sounds great and plays/feels like a dream. Overall it's not heavy and it comes not with it's original case but another Fender case.In great condition. If this was totally original it would be priced around 6k here in Oz.

Just arrived is a Cool Musicmaster dates 1960/61 from it's serial, it's in that burst red finish rather than a mono colour. The fretboard of course is a Brazilian rosewood slab board and has the desired clay dot inlays. All pot's, capacitor, saddles and tuners are original. No changed parts. Pickguard is still nice and white as can be seen in the pics. Surface rust on the tuners and saddles truly give it that vintage look. The players that used these are Mickey "Dean Ween" Melchiondo of Ween, Dweezil Zappa and Liz Phair - even Jimi Hendrix and Stevie Ray Vaughn were said to use the Musicmasters early in there career's. The case is an old one that has seen better days as well so could really now use a new case. These early Musicmasters have always been highly playable and have always had a great sound to them of which this one is of no exception. A pretty cool vintage piece that's around 95 years old. This is a very cool blue's guitar. Can also be used for blue's slide by adjusting the nut height etc.
A great sounding guitar, lets face it, where are you gonna buy a guitar that sounds like this for less than 2k....nowhere.
Has some body (timber)work which has been fixed up in the past and as can be seen in the pics, the bridge has been removed and fully reset so now no problems at all. This would also make a very cool 'Dropped D' guitar. Comes with a standard acoustic large hardcase at the moment but if I find a right size case we'll ship it with that.
Overall in VGC now and sounds and plays very well.

CIRCA 80's
BLACK
These early 80's basses by Fernandez are getting very good reputations nowadays.
Ok, we know it's a copy of the 'RIC' bass of the classic design that we all know about. What 90% of the starting bass players dont realise is just how good these are. As with the Greco styled "RIC' or the 'THUNDERBIRD" styles basses these Fernandez are finally starting to gain a reputation. They play exceptionally well considering the price, so if your a young guy/girl who desires a Rickenbacker but doesn't have the budget this is the way to go. One great stepping stone. It has the redwood style sharktooth fretboard, white binding, single ply pick guard, 2 single coil pickups, and it's a full size. Overall EXC cond. but does have player wear which can be seen in the pics. Currently priced without a case. So a case will be extra.

A great FENDER RHODES from 1979, the MK1 73'...In all original condition has come our way. On this instrument to purchase there are 2 options, firstly as is, the piano will require a service, or the second option we'll have it all done. These 2 options offer different prices of course. The overall condition is pretty good, as far as we can see it needs tuning etc, but when being serviced other things from an instrument this age will be picked up. The piano itself is the '73 with the slide bass & treble switch, has the amp & speakers cabinet which feature 4 x 12 inch speakers, two facing forwards and two facing backwards in turn giving a cool tremelo effect, almost 'Leslie' like. Shipping will be expensive Australia wide so our preference is for it to sell in W.A. Enquiries welcome though.

Featuring the flamed maple as seen in the pics on the back and sides, the stunning inlays featuring paua shell, fully bound front and back including the neck and the headstock, one can only be amazed at how beautiful this looks....So how does it play...? Well again being the smaller model compared to the SJ-200 you can actually hold this one easily and this in itself makes it so much better than the SJ models, as for sound it has sustain and that full bodied richness only found in the top end guitars, you could use this on stage, to record with or makes a beautiful guitar in that video clip, condition is EXC+++ and has some very very minor player wear, but basically you cant see this, no dings or scratches, in the neck pic you can sort of see a spot that looks like a ding but this is in the pic from the light so there's nothing there...comes of course with original case, pamphlets, key etc.

Just in is a beautiful GIBSON ES-335 from 1973 in the alternative colour of 'Walnut' ok it's not cherry but if it was it would be even more expensive. So in walnut it's a great way to get into a 'vintage' 335. It has the trapeze tailpiece, double line gibson deluxe tuners, brazillian rosewood fretboard, 2 tone and 2 volume switches plus the 3 way selector. So lets talk sound, as you know these early 70's 335's do have that killer sound coming from those two patent number pickups, plus the 335 is quite light so makes it easy to play all night, of course at these investment prices now seen on early Gibsons these are becoming more and more for the professional players or for those with discerning tastes, so if this is to your liking please feel free to email me but just to let you know we also have a 1970 335 also in walnut on the way...overall this one is in exc++ condition and comes with it's original case, please note the case handle (or should I say rope..lol..)

This one is of course light and has that cool cherry finish which has aged beautifully with no major dings just honest player wear which is even hard to see in the pics, what can I say, really nice and in exc.++ condition, comes with a non-original hard case which I feel really needs something more substantial for a guitar of this quality.

The GUILD F-412 12 string is truly a magnificent instrument. With booming voice as expected and with great low's and well as cool trebles, I personally love these 12 strings. Guild has always been a quality manufacturer.
The fretboard is ebony and has beautiful multiple binding and mother of pearl block inlays with abalone shell triangle inlays as well. The bridge has 2 additional MOP flower inlays which Ive never seen before on an F-412 so 'maybe' that was a special order. Overall this guitar has been played and loved. The story that we had from the owners son was that this guitar was bought from Rocky Mountain Music and that the guitar was formally owned by the legend John Denver, unfortunately we cant verify this so take it for what it is. So how cool are the flames on this guitar as well as the colour, it certainly has that late 50's vibe of the Gibson Les Pauls of the era. The pick guard does has a small crack where the screw goes thru but you can still get pick guards so this can be replaced. This one also has the intact 'tuning fork' and the mute selector, and the back vinyl is also still there. Featuring two great pickups these sound just so great, whether your into rockabilly, county or rock you not going to be disappointed with this beauty. The fretboard is of course ebony which is one of my favourite materials next to aged rosewood and both give you that unique sound. WALNUT FINISH
Here we have another great GIBSON ES-335 from the very early 70's, serial dating put's it bewtween 1970 & 1972. The walnut finish is still in great shape and only shows minor crazing etc, no major dings or scratches overall the finish is quite good on the body. The neck has that 60's feel to it and shows 1 spot of wear through of about 1cm round or so. Pickups are of course patent number with a 3 way selector and 2 x volume and 2 x tone. The 335 features a solid block running from the neck to the back of the guitar which is where these get there magic tone from, and of course this is a tone monster, no doubt about that..! The fretboard is Brazilian rosewood with binding and mother of pearl block inlays. the binding overall shows that nice yellowing which basically all 335 of this age do giving it that unique vintage vibe and look. Overall a tone monster waiting for it's new owner. In exc+ condition and comes with it's original case.

CHERRY
Just arrived is the very cool and vintage Gibson SG from 1975. At one stage this model had the vibrola arm installed but now features the stop tailpiece instead. Everything else on the guitar including pot's, switches and knobs are all original as are the 'gibson' tulip style tuners. Fretboard is rosewood and has the bound fretboard and block style inlays. Two killer hum buckers give it a great sound as one would expect. The SG is very light of course so this is a guitar you can play all night on stage, it has been featured in a small way in the above video versus a Greco sg so you can hear what it sounds like etc. Overall in VGC+++ And comes with a non original newish style hard case

CHERRY FINISH
A GREAT COLLECTORS PIECE
A beautiful GIBSON ES-345 from 1967, in the great cherry finish which I believe is the most desirable, it is the stereo model with the varitone sector switch giving many different options for the sound you desire. This model was more expensive at the time than it's junior brother the 335 as stereo was just catching on, but now after more than 50 years the 335 has also become very collectable as has this one. Of course this one features the trapeze tailpiece, split diamond mother of pearl inlays, brazilian rosewood fully bound fretboard deluxe kluson tuners and the binding has aged to the very cool looking cream colour. Most collectors keep them in the stereo or have a very small mod. done which can easily be reversed and make it mono, if you wish to keep it in stereo you will need a stereo to mono lead, so whether you are a collector or professional you will enjoy the beauty of this model, it's killer sound and the ease of how it plays. Comes with a original hand tag from gibson and it's original case. exc+++ condition , again a highly recommended guitar

CANDY APPLE RED
Here's a very nice condition Fender Strat Plus model featuring Lace Sensor pickups. Made in 1996, has a very nice candy apple red/cherry finish with that aged pearloid look pick guard as well.
Has been very well looked after and as such has no significant dings or marks except on the side of the fretboard a very small mark. Other than that looks exc+. Has been through the full setup, plays extremely well, sound's very cool as you would expect. Looking for that Strat but without that vintage price tag then this is your next closest step. Wait another 10 years and this will be vintage..!! as now even 80's guitars are 40 years old and are still desirable should you not have the budget etc. Comes with some case candy and a great fender case.
