'RICKY' STYLE 4003 BASS
CIRCA MID 70'S
Get the Rick look without the budget.
This is the Top of the range Greco RB-1000S Which at the time was the best that Greco had to offer for Bass guitars. It features the rosewood fretboard with the crushed pearl shark tooth style inlays, 2 pickups which do sound great through the single output versus the 2 outputs that the Ricky has. The binding is the checker style which does really suit this bass. The case is an original Greco of the period as well. Overall an EXC+ condition bass that plays very well and if your on a limited budget but still love the Ricky shape then this will certainly do. At the time in Japan this was offered for sale at 100,000 yen which in the mid 70's was/is a lot so you know your getting a top of the line bass.
A very nice Fender P bass Special with the matching headstock and in the Lake Placid Blue finish, a great example of a 1980 bass with the active/passive switch and 3 control knobs. The hardware is in a gold finish and does show some wear but overall it still looks great. The pickguard is white as are the pickup covers so it looks quite stunning. The thumb rest is also there as well. Fretboard is maple and it has the black dot inlays and the tuners are of course Fender and in gold finish.
Overall one very nice bass thats now around 42 years old and still looks and sounds great. There are a few demo's of these on youtube so check them out. If your looking for a P bass that has the cool factor, this is it.
In EXC condition and come with a hard case which although is not a Fender one bit is of the same hard fibre glass/plastic type as used by Fender at the time and fit's/works well
NOTE NON ORIGINAL HARD CASE
Not something we see much of here in Oz. You might see the standard looking Warlock bass by BC RICH, but not too often one of these very cool basses from Fernandes.
This Confederate WB-95Y Bass overall is in VGC although both the lower bouts have a few chips in them as can be seen in the pics. This is caused by putting the guitar on a hard surface instead of getting the right stand, from memory Hercules make great bass stands and it's worth getting one of those. Back to the bass, the pickups are active/passive, but if you've played with an active bass you do get the extra drive which really suits this type of bass & style. The fretboard is rosewood and has nice diamond style inlays. Headstock and tuners are in great condition. It does sound great through our 50's valve testing amp which we did crank up and Im quite impressed with this bass. Girls, this bass is reasonably light and it won't break you back. Does not come with a hard case though, but does have a gig bag. A case is available though in Australia.
JAZZ BASS 1990
Finding a 1990 USA Fender Jazz Bass seems to be quite difficult nowadays as their considered a great bass and most players just keep them.
This one came to us and it's basically in EXC+ condition as can be seen in the pics. It has the sunburst finish with the rosewood fretboard, dot inlays and it's in the sunburst finish. Both the chrome selector plate and the pickguard are all original, the knobs are an aftermarket knurled style which do look great. There are no marks of any major significance etc and the tuners are Fender and work excellent. It plays really well and it's just been through our luthier and also has a new set of medium strings on it. The case is an aftermarket hard case and is in fair condition. As Ive said it's in exc.condition and a great looking bass as well.
NOTE THE AFTERMARKET FAIR CONDITION CASE
Newly arrived is this great Thunderbird Bass by Orville, this model is the 'By Gibson' one with the 'G' serial, research says that the G serials were equipped with Gibson Electrics as in pickups, pot's and wiring etc. The body was made in Japan and as can be seen in the pics the standard of build of this bass is very high. The bass arrived without a case and as such had a small crack around the headstock, but not a break. We took this to our Luthier and he suggested that we fix this so that there would be no problems future wise. As such we'll warranty the bass against any headstock damage for 6 month's from the purchase date . The bass is now 100% and you dont need to worry about anything. We've ordered an aftermarket case which should arrive very soon. Overall the bass looks so cool and plays great, sound wise your not going to be disappointed at all. Has the rosewood fretboard, two great pickups, the larger tuners 2 x volume and 1 x tone selectors. Overall in VGC.
This is a Gibson Hollowbody bass from the 60's which certainly has the vintage vibe. It has a mod. done to the bridge pickup which is now a di Marzio 125 rail pickup designed for bass. You can read plenty of reviews on this pickup anywhere. The neck pickup is original as are the tuners etc. What has been done to make it look right were a new pick guard, a bridge pickup cover and new knobs, all of these are non original to the guitar but it still has the vibe at least. Plays pretty well and with the DM pickup sounds great. The case is an acoustic guitar case which had some foam with velvet put underneath so the guitar now fit's the case, still in VGC overall and a nice bass.
This is the bass you want to use on tour and too record with:
Fender Jazz bass with the very rare custom gold finish, produced between 81 and 84, also know as the American standard jazz bass, this one has a huge history having been played both on tour, on stage and as a recording bass. This bass has travelled around the world more than I have..! This one has sustain both in the neck and body when played which is a very desirable feature for players and for recording, the wear as can be seen has gone through to the timber on a couple of spots on the body, and on the neck the gloss finish has worn through giving it that required mojo that your looking for, overall in V.G.C. lot's of real player wear, lot's of history and lot's of vibe...can highly recommend this one, comes with a fender tweed style hard case that's still o.k.

A CLOSE UP OF THE FRONT OF THE RARE GOLD FINISH JAZZ BASS
Another cool Fender Jazz bass from circa 1972 from it's serial (1970 to 72). Beautifully roadworn from many gig's this one's been under the bed for the past 30 years. Has the desirable block inlays on the rosewood fretboard, and the neck even has some slight burl to it. Will go for a full setup and new strings etc but we photographed it how it came in. The chrome covers are Fender but we believe are not original to this guitar? The rosewood fretboard is still in great condition as are the block inlays. The neck is also fully bound. The pick guard is the tortoise shell style which is also original as are the knob's and all electrics. Tuners are all ok just have that 'been in the case' look to them. The case is of course original to the bass and in pretty good condition. Overall in VGC and recommended should you be searching for an early 70's bass. sound great even with the old rusty strings..LOL
BEAUTIFUL ROADWORD AUTHENTIC JAZZ BASS
BEAUTIFUL ROADWORD AUTHENTIC JAZZ BASS
MC 824 DS
The IBANEZ MUSICIAN BASS is one great bass. From memory the bass player for U2 used one many years back. This model is the mc824ds which has the double octave fretboard in rosewood and has dot inlays, The pickups are killer sounding in the style of the cool P90'S. There are 2 volume and a tone sector and a 3 way pickup selector as well. The finish is a see thru 'walnut' style ( my opinion ) well it look's like it to me..The neck is made up of several pieces of timber and goes all the way thru the body which can be seen in the pics. Overall another great bass that's got a killer sound and it comes with it's original olive green interior styled case, In VGC but does have some buckle wear on the back which can be seen in the pics.
A very cool bass from MUSICMAN from 1988.
This one is the
FRETLESS STINGRAY BASS.
Take your bass playing to the next level.
First one that I've seen in quite a long time for sale in the fretless version. Many are just the standard version and most have the maple fretboards as well. This one from 88 is in great fully original condition and also is the active version which uses a 9v battery. The huge humbucker gives such a varied sound option that you can use one of these basses for just about any genre' of music you like. Pickguard is the black/white, tailpiece is chrome, has 3 and 1 tuners which of course are original. The case is aftermarket. Overall your not going to be disappointed at all with this fine fretless bass. Exc condition and one hell of a bass..!
Another great bass by Atelier Z guitar works. Made in Japan to exacting high standards.
Features a see thru blonde finish with matching finished headstock. Tortoise style pick guard, rosewood fretboard and square MOP inlays and a chrome cover over the centre pickup which gives it that vintage look. These bass's have a great reputation especially in Japan where they are made. The neck also has the white binding as well making it one great looking guitar. It's a big guitar for the player who know's how to get the best out of one of these. Comes with it's original case and overall in EXC+++ condition. Highly recommended for the working muso.
Here's a cool Fender Jazz Bass from 2007 the 62' Re-Issue.
Featuring the stackpole knob's, tortoise shell style pick guard, rosewood fretboard, dot inlays and finished in Olympic White. The finish is still 'white' but in certain pics does look creme in colour. This beautiful bass is in EXC+++ condition but does has a couple of very very small nicks and one spot where it was sitting on a stand for too long and has gone a slight yellowish but hardly noticeable at all. The case is also in exc condition and comes with all the case candy. Finished by R.MORENO who was a worker in the USA factory and the neck date can be verified in the pics as 2007. A great guitar at a great price.
A cool GRECO BASS from Japan, come with two hum- bucking pickups, 3 way switch, 2 x tone and 2 x volume selectors, is the 'les Paul' style shape, the black top is fully bound and is quite nice, it's a 3/4 bass so would suit someone who either likes a smaller bass or someone who likes a lighter bass. In no way does it make this bass less of an instrument, it plays really well and has some deep growly sounds or a brighter sound depending on which position you choose. The fretboard is rosewood and has mother of pearl with Paul shell style inlays which look great as well. Tuners are of a nice size so easy to tune, very little player wear. Overall a great sounding first or second bass, why by a chinese crappy bass when you can have something of this quality. comes with a new hard case. VGC+++
SOLD TO MARK FROM ADELAIDE
A very cool early 80's Victory bass by Gibson. Has the gold top finish with plenty of wear etc which makes it look oh so cool. Overall in very good condition and playability, 3rd fret has slight mark which does not effect the instrument at all. Tuners are in exc. condition as well as all electrics...Will make a great instrument in the band with that real vintage vibe and look. Come's with a non original case. The pic in the case gives a realistic colour shot. very good condition.
Both collectors and players have just started to realise just how cool these are....ps: watch the movie Back to the Future' and you'll see the bass player in Battle of the Bands playing one.
